VIKING FOOTBALL NEWS AND DOINGS “VFND”

President I have just started my year as Booster Club President and am so looking forward to the upcoming VIKING FOOTBALL season as I know your are! One of the things I want to try to do is to keep VIKING FANS updated on the many special activities we have planned for the 2008 Season. To that end welcome to the first issue of VFND! Each month I will endeavor to share with you things that are going on with the Vikes including: upcoming events such as the “Kick Off” Viking Booster Club meeting; the Viking Football Golf Tournament (May 5th); a look at our new District opponents; the 300 win Celebration; “The History of Lamar Vikings Football” coffee table book and many other “inside the program” activities. There are two items I want to update you on in this inaugural issue of VFND. First is the annual “KICK OFF” Viking Club Meeting which is set for 7:00 PM on Monday, March 31st in the LHS auditorium. You do NOT want to miss this meeting! We are in a new District and Coach Peach will discuss what that means! Want to know when spring practice is and what goes on then? Want to know about summer workouts? 7 on 7 teams? This is your chance to hear from the Coaches and ask questions so you NEED TO BE THERE. The second reason you do NOT want to miss this meeting is that we will be discussing opportunities to help with the many projects the football booster club is involved with for next year. THIS IS NOT JUST “ANOTHER YEAR”; THIS ONE IS VERY, VERY SPECIAL AND WE WILL GO OVER WHY AT THE MEETING. YOU WILL HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO BE A PART OF SOMETHING SPECIAL AND WE NEED YOU! This meeting is for ALL VIKING FANS. You do not have to have a child at Lamar to come and hear about what is upcoming for Lamar Football. If you love LAMAR FOOTBALL you should be there! By the way if you want to go ahead and join the Booster Club now and avoid filling out paper work at the meeting; just go to this link. The second item of note for this month is to let you know about our upcoming Lamar Viking Football Golf Tournament. This event will be held on Monday May 5th, which is a school holiday for Cinco de Mayo. Listen to what Marla Thomas has arranged for this year!
